Easy Dessert Recepies
I love the holidays !!!
I usually make a different dessert every time my family gets together for the holidays.
These recepies are going from generation to generation.
My grandmom tough my mom how to make different delicious desserts; then my mom tough me, and now I'm teaching my cousing how to make it too.
It's fun and easy to do it!
One of my favorite dessert is :
Flan
Ingredients:
1 cup sugar, caramelized
6 eggs, well beaten
2 (14 ounce) cans sweetened condensed milk
2 (12 ounce) cans evaporated milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 dash cinnamon
Directions:
1. Coat tube pan with caramelized sugar.
2. Allow to harden, then place pan in container with ice cold water until the caramelized sugar cracks.
3. Mix other ingredient in order, stir well and pour in mold.
4. Place mold in pan with 2'' hot water in preheated oven.
5. Bake at 350F for 1 hour or until firm.
6. Let cool, then invert and unmold.
My second favorite one is:
Arroz con Leche
Ingredients:
1 cup long-grain white rice
2 cinnamon sticks
1 tablespoon lemon zest
3 whole cloves
4 cups water
1 egg
3 cups fat free milk
1 (12 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup raisins (soaked in rum)
Directions:
Soak the rice, cinnamon sticks, lemon zest and whole cloves in the water in a heavy saucepan for 1 hour.
After soaking, bring the rice mixture to a boil on high heat, uncovered. When it starts to boil, lower the heat to medium and cook for 10 more minutes or until water is almost evaporated.
While rice is cooking, beat the egg in a bowl. Add the milk and stir well to mix. Add the egg mixture, vanilla extract, raisins, and condensed milk to the rice and cook over medium-low heat, stirring carefully, until it thickens slightly or until desired consistency, about 30 minutes.
Let cool uncovered.
Enjoy it!!! :)

Both of those recipes look wonderful! I also love to cook and bake for the holidays. And there is nothing better than creating old recipes. Thanks for sharing.
